Real-time IT management company ManageEngine released a new version of its firewall log and configuration monitoring software, Firewall Analyzer. The latest version of Firewall Analyzer is a security category finalist in the 'Best of Interop 2012' competition. With increasing adoption of IPFIX in enterprise IT organizations, the company has added support for IPFIX with extensions. The company said that IP Flow Information Export (IPFIX) is the NetFlow standard that is vendor agnostic. Japanese auto manufacturer Mazda Motor Corp. has recently implemented Volcano Network Architect(VNA) software to monitor all incoming and outgoing network bandwidth efficiently. According to Mazda, VAN is a tool that can efficiently design and check the Controller Area Network (CAN), as well as LIN networks, in a vehicle in addition to providing powerful optimization features to drive more than 90 percent of available bandwidth. The software also offers a mathematical way to calculate the worst case scenario on a CAN bus.

Likewise, with SaaS (News - Alert), cloud computing, and collaboration tools gaining momentum, IT administrators are being asked to take control of their network’s inbound quality of service (QoS) capabilities. According to analysts, these functions are similar to a Network Tap designed to optimize bandwidth applications such as video and audio streaming, as well as to improve the efficiency of the Internet.  So, Riverbed (News - Alert) Technology has added a new QoS feature to its Riverbed Optimization System, the software that powers the company's Steelhead appliances. Hence, according to Riverbed, enterprise users of Steelhead Appliances will enjoy much smoother and responsive data transmission.

A new mobile app from OpenVault gives high-speed data subscribers the ability to view the amount of data they have consumed on their broadband plan. In addition to enabling customers to have a better understanding of their consumption behavior, this application allows operators to support new pricing models, communicate marketing messages, as well as usage thresholds. As per the report, the new app from OpenVault is now available for the iPhone with plans for Android based devices in Q4 2012.

DataCore Software entered into a technology association with VirtualSharp Software to deliver Disaster Recovery Assurance as a management solution to disaster recovery.

Finally, OwnerIQ selected Internap’s scalable and high-performance managed hosting services and VSS Monitoring (News - Alert) earned recognition for its Network Tap solutions.
