Let’s kickoff the week with a roundup of the latest news in network tap.
Recently, Tenable Network Security announced that it has released its Nessus Scanner, which aims to help corporations detect cyber threats as they happen.
In a BYOD society, the Nessus Scanner integrates with Apple (News - Alert) Profile Manger and Microsoft Exchange via Active directory. It is able to discover mobile devices and keeps organizations ahead of mobile threats.
"We're pushing the boundaries of network security by offering a single platform that discovers mobile devices and keeps organizations ahead of mobile threats," said Ron Gula, CEO at Tenable Network Security.
In other news, VSS Monitoring (News - Alert) launched its vBroker, which, according to the report, is a set of network packet broker systems designed to not only give better visibility, but improve overall performance of the network itself.
The report also notes that the new solution is a system-level approach, which allows users to both connect and maintain visibility at the link level and even manage multiple packet brokers at once.
Last but not least, F5 Networks announced that it has selected Westcon Group (News - Alert) to distribute its networking services on the global level. Westcon is the first global distributor for F5.
Under the terms of the agreement, both companies will be looking to enhance their authority to distribute F5 solutions in many new countries. The agreement is also expected to strengthen the companies’ strategic relationship.
“Westcon prides itself on working with premier technology vendors to jointly address the most challenging IT priorities of our diverse partner base,” said Bill Corbin, executive vice president of Global Vendor Relationships, Westcon Group. “In particular, organizations look to us to ensure their network and connectivity solutions are reliable, secure, and supported every step of the way. We’re excited to share this broad-based, global expertise with F5, helping customers get the most out of F5’s powerful security and Application Delivery Networking solutions.”
Westcon has experience with F5, as the company has previously served as an F5 distributor in the Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific.
